About Ashish Prasad

Hi, I'm Ashish - I make complicated products feel obvious

I'm a senior UX/UI and product designer and brand strategist based in Pune, India. For more than ten years I've helped teams in enterprise SaaS, healthcare, banking, AI and B2B trade turn messy problems into brands and products people understand, trust and choose.

The short version

I design brands and digital products for companies where getting it wrong is expensive: healthcare platforms where a misleading status erodes trust, enterprise software used all day by people under pressure, banking products that must meet strict accessibility standards, and B2B businesses whose buyers compare everything before they commit.

My work spans brand strategy and identity, UX/UI and product design, CRO and experience audits, design systems and accessibility, and creative direction. The common thread is simple: understand people, question assumptions, and make difficult things feel obvious.

How I got here

I started as a visual designer at Vidushi Infotech in 2012, while studying for a B.A. in Animation at IGNOU. Those early years were a crash course in craft - typography, layout, grids - and in the less glamorous side of design work: supporting pre-sales, responding to RFPs and RFQs, and helping sales and marketing teams explain the value of design against competitors.

Curiosity about why some design decisions win business and others don't led me to an MBA in Marketing at Pune University (2016-2018). It changed how I work. I started treating design as a business decision with a buyer on the other side, not just an aesthetic one - which is why positioning, evidence and conversion show up in almost everything I do now.

I returned to Vidushi Infotech after the MBA, then joined GO MO Group as a Senior UI/UX Designer, gathering requirements with clients, creating sitemaps, wireframes and on-brand web and mobile designs, and presenting the design process and rationale to every client for sign-off.

Since October 2022 I've been a Senior UX/UI Designer at Robosoft Technologies, working on enterprise-grade SaaS platforms. There I led development and adoption of a customer-facing design system that improved reusability, contributed to WCAG A/AA/AAA accessibility for a major banking client, and worked daily with clients on pre-sales consultations, requirements and presentations - helping lift client retention to 90%.

Seven moves

How I work

I don't jump straight into design. Every project moves through the same seven steps, scaled to its size.

  1. 01

    Listen and align

An open conversation about the brief, goals, audience, expectations and constraints, to build shared clarity.

  2. 02

    Name the real problem

Organise what we've learned and separate symptoms from root causes.

  3. 03

    Plan and investigate

Assess the current experience; research the market, competitors and technical realities.

  4. 04

    Shape the direction

Content structure, hierarchy, moodboards, typography, colour and core system.

  5. 05

    Design and build

Interfaces, prototypes and key interactions, each connected to user needs and business goals.

  6. 06

    Review together

Present the reasoning, discuss openly and gather focused feedback.

  7. 07

    Refine and move forward

Improve and repeat until the experience is clear, consistent and ready.

What I believe about design

You have to major in the minors.

It's the line I try to work by. The details most people skip - an empty state, a status label, a contrast ratio, a spacing value, an error message - are usually where trust is won or lost. I've learned that the most valuable design work is rarely the flashiest; it's the work that makes a product consistent, accessible and quietly reliable.

A few other convictions:

  • Structure before style. Most "make it cleaner" requests are information architecture problems.
  • Evidence over opinion. Test with real users, check the data, cite the source.
  • Accessibility is quality. If some people can't use it, it isn't finished.
  • Systems beat heroics. Good governance lets whole teams do great work, not just one designer.
  • Design is a team sport. The best products come from listening well - to users, engineers, sales and support.

Beyond the screen

Design can happen anywhere - for me, a lot of it happens on a motorbike. Long-distance rides are where I think best; hours on the road have solved more design problems than most whiteboards. I plan trips around food almost as much as routes, take photographs wherever I go, and speak about design, systems and process at meetups and conferences whenever I can.

How I write this site

The articles and service pages on this site are written to be genuinely useful, and to hold up to scrutiny:

  • Sources are linked. Every statistic links to its original publisher or an authoritative report, and figures are checked against those sources before publishing. Each article lists its sources.
  • Dates are shown. Articles show when they were published and last updated, because regulations and research change.
  • Experience is real. Examples come from real projects. Client names and confidential details are withheld, and project specifics are described accurately.
  • AI assistance is disclosed. I use AI tools, including Claude, to help with research and drafting. Content is reviewed and edited before publication, and facts are checked against sources.
  • Corrections are welcome. If you spot an error, email ashishprasad768@gmail.com and I'll review and update it.
